Work has me all tied up so I’m not 100% focused on finding some cool interesting videos, so hang in with me. That said I’ve still found some fun and interesting videos.
Mr. C The Slide Man – Cha-Cha Slide
If I can’t get myself moving too much, maybe if you follow along you can get moving and in the grove for Friday. This song may or may not drop in the clubs and usually it’s under a bit of a better remix, this one is quite flat in comparison, but it does a good job of showing you how to do the Cha-Cha Slide.
Nicki Minaj – Super Bass
Bit of a flash back to the TLC days in the early 90s. Wait who the fuck is Nicki Minaj? No matter, this video is a little conflicting to me. It’s got all the makings of a video to sexually exploit men, but at the same time there’s a lot of self exploitation going on. Not to mention it’s bright and pink all over and I can’t quite make much of that black light scene at the end. I’m confused about a lot of things at this point… Nice work there Nicki Minaj you freak.
Portishead – All Mine
Speaking of confusing and freakish this is an old throwback. While this clearly was not something produced in the late 70s the manged to do a nice job making it all chromatic and add-on to that eerie feeling of the video. If my memory serves me well, I remember this being in Much Music top 10 freaky music videos. If you don’t understand why then I think you should watch it again in the dark. I’m making a mental note never to bring this up again.
Radiohead – High and Dry
But of an odd one this is. This is the US version of the video and not the original intended video. The UK version from what I read is just Radiohead playing in a desert while film crew stuff works around them. Until I see it I can’t really comment on it, but as for this one, it’s not bad. You got those two sinister little side stories going on, the band (in a very young band) passively driving some of the narration, and on top of this you got most of the restaurant patrons singing along to High and Dry. Nothing seems too overly forced, but the abrupt ending to everything kind of sucks. The start reminds me a bit of Pulp Fiction.
